Fabulous Freddy Beach

We have been experiencing the most incredible fall weather here in Fredericton.  I have been warned by countless local people that I should not be tricked into believing that the constant sunshine and lovely warm temperatures are the norm for this part of the world.  I'm told that this has been the nicest autumn season in many, many years.  Well...I'm new to these parts, so I'm just going to keep on believing that this is the way it will always be at this time of year.  Who knows?  I may even be correct in my thinking.

So here I am, out at my sister's place in Bear Island, which is about 45 minutes outside of Fredericton - otherwise known as Freddy Beach.  It's a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, and I'm getting caught up on some work while my family enjoys "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" - a fabulous movie in case you're interested. The sun is so bright I can barely see my laptop screen, and it's been this way most days since I arrived here in August.  How lucky are we?

I've been busy getting ready to start touring in January.  I'll be kicking everything off in mid-January at Crumb's Cafe here in Fredericton and will end up in St. John's on February 24th for a Folk Night at The Ship Pub.  There'll be lots of dates in lots of places during those two months, and I should be able to make some announcements in the very near future.  I'm pretty excited about getting on the road!

In the meantime, I'm playing at The Garrison District Ale House on December 2 at The Fredericton Tweetup.  A "tweet up" is a meeting of local Twitter users, and I'm really looking forward to being part of the event.  Everything kicks off at 7:00 and will go until around 11:00.  No admission!  Come check it out.  There will be lots of great prizes from the local business community.  If you're on Twitter, my username is @LisaGillamMusic.  If you follow me, I'll follow you right back!  I now have over 500 followers, and I've made many meaningful connections.  I highly recommend it for anyone looking to reach out and connect with lots of people.
