Vandals, Tweeters and Rose
Vandalism...I just don't understand. Why on Earth would someone feel the need to bust something up? Is it anger that causes a person to get physical? Boredom? I just don't know. What I do know is that the Fredericton Cenotaph was vandalized just two days before Remembrance Day. Of all things to destroy. It boggles my mind. In any case, the monument was severely damaged and people can make donations to assist with repair costs. I do hope they catch the culprits. Army service...yup...that would straighten them out.
In lighter news, I've been busy establishing a new business here in Fredericton. Lately I've been struggling to find a way to blend my two great loves...MAKING music and TEACHING music...into one fabulous activity. I think I've come up with a great solution. In January, I will launch a brand new music education program for preschoolers. I've called it the "Parents and Tots Music Education Program". I'm pretty excited about the whole thing! I've secured space in the gorgeous Charlotte Street Arts Centre, and I've begun registering families for classes that start in January. One of the things I'm the most excited about is that I'm going to write and record a short song about every child who enrolls in the program. Seriously, how much fun will that be? Check out my new site at www.parentandtotsmusic.com And yes...I'll still be touring Atlantic Canada within the next couple of months. In fact, I just booked a date at The Ship in February. Pretty stoked about that, too! Schedule will be announced soon. In addition to that, I've been "twittering" a.k.a. "tweeting" pretty regularly for a few weeks now and, I must say, I've met some very cool people on there. If you haven't tried it, you may want to give it a chance. If you have tried it...well, heck...look me up! I have two accounts @LisaGillamMusic and @ParentsandTots and I LOVE to hear from people...lots and lots of people! Everything you need to know in life, you can learn on Twitter....along with some things you may not WANT or NEED to know! In other news, I have to send out a huge thanks to my niece, Rose, in Halifax. She has been officially elevated to "SUPERFAN" status...and you can never have too many superfans. If you know of a superfan that needs attention, please let me know! Cheers, Lisa Comments about "Vandals, Tweeters and Rose" |
